Business support subsidies now available for 2009.

We are delighted to announce that we are maintaining our offer to businesses of £500 towards the full cost of an approved innovation placement.

As the recession bites deeper it becomes even more important to remain innovative and keep projects progressing. Placement students can come into your business for a limited period of time with the positive outlook and fresh perspective that could be just what you need.

*There is only a limited amount of funding available, so please do get in touch as soon as possible to take advantage of the offer. The subsidy is payable on completion of the placement.

One of our students wins top award!

Julian Polzella took part in the London Innovation Placement Programme in June 2008 and was nominated for the Entrepreneurial Spirit Category at the prestigious 2008 London Knowledge Transfer Awards.

The judges were looking for candidates who had developed a business idea which was entrepreneurial in nature. Candidates had to demonstrate that they made a positive impact on the business’s capability for innovation and that the project was profitable and had a positive impact on their development.

Julian’s project took place at Palantir Economic Solutions Ltd. Over a 12 week placement programme Julian and Palantir endeavoured to complete a prototype version of a new and innovative software application for the oil and gas industry. Julian worked with Palantir’s software development team to design and build the architecture and solution.

The project was a great success - Julian felt he gained a much greater understanding of recent developments in methods of large scale software development, while the project should provide Palantir with the means to expand their current business into the American market.

The Award ceremony took place in December 2008 where Julian was awarded as winner of the category.
